Abstract
The modification of physicochemical and DC electrical properties of the XLPE insulation of an HVDC model cable submitted to type test has been investigated to support leakage current measurement results. No major physicochemical ageing was observed, while space charge measurements using PEA show a modification of the material after the application of thermal and electrical stresses.
