One approach to methodology for research
and development of HVDC cable accessories

Abstract

This paper presents one possible approach to research and development process created and utilized for HVDC cable accessories – terminations and joints. The methodology developed over the 2-year period includes different stages such as basic material research and characterization, FEA simulation and gap analysis and selection of material candidates based on identified set of parameters. G&W worked with different industry experts and outside labs to implement such a R&D program and will present the methodology and some of the results of ongoing development.
