SuperGrid Institute member of the CEC:
moving towards a regenerative future

It is about time that we shared with you the journey that has been driving our Institute for over a year now: SuperGrid Institute has joined the Businesses for the Climate Convention (CEC)! After a year rich in exchanges and inspiration, our company has adopted a regenerative roadmap to meet the environmental challenges of our time.

The CEC is a French movement that invites companies to actively contribute to the preservation and restoration of life on Earth, at a time when most planetary boundaries, essential to the planet’s habitability, have already been exceeded.

To regenerate, means going above and beyond reducing or eliminating negative impacts

The CEC organises awareness and transformation programmes for economic decision-makers. According to the CEC, companies have the power to transform our societies;they can “make the shift from an extractive economy to a regenerative economy by 2030 irresistible.”

What is a regenerative economy? It is an economic model that goes beyond reducing impact or achieving “net zero”, aiming instead to regenerate resources and ecosystems. This model relies on new and expanded forms of cooperation among stakeholders within the same territory.

SuperGrid Institute is taking part in the Bassin Lyonnais pathway

In early 2024, SuperGrid Institute embarked on this journey alongside 134 companies from the Rhône-Alpes region, alternating between scientific conferences and working groups.

SuperGrid Institute is an Institute for Energy Transition. It was created to support the development and integration of renewable energies by developing technologies for the industrial sector. We could have easily convinced ourselves that working towards the energy transition was enough in itself, that it is the heart of our activity” explains our CEO, Hubert de la Grandière. “But no. We want to do more, to contribute to a more attractive future and be part of a network of local actors.

A 10-year vision

At the end of this process, our commitment to the CEC has taken shape in the form of a dedicated roadmap for the next ten years.

SuperGrid Institute is an Institute for Energy Transition.

This roadmap is the starting point for a new approach, where we assert our determination to increase our social and environmental impact” continues Hubert de la Grandière. “With these guidelines, we have chosen to focus on cooperation, both internally and with our partners, and on the impact of our business and technologies”.

Now more than ever, we aim to be a trusted third-party, developing sustainable technologies to support the connection and integration of renewable energies to ensure a secure supply of electricity, at an affordable price, and with a lower environmental impact.
