Qualification of a 10kV MVDC Cable System Including Accessories
Abstract
This paper presents the qualification of a 10kV MVDC cable system, highlighting its advantages in energy efficiency, power capacity, and operational flexibility for modern power distribution. The qualification process involved rigorous testing, including full type tests, load cycles, lightning impulses, and DC tests, to assess the performance of the cable and its accessories. Results show the system passed all tests, confirming its reliability for MVDC networks. The successful qualification underscores the potential of new insulation materials and contributes to the development of robust MVDC cable systems, supporting future standardization and deployment of MVDC infrastructure.
