This Tuesday, the 17th of December, SuperGrid Institute organised a Climate Collage event for its team. The Climate Collage is an interactive workshop based on collective intelligence that raises awareness of climate change and allows participants to gain a better understanding of the the complexity of this issue in a fun and easy way.
SuperGrid Institute is proud to announce that Majededdine MOUSTAID was awarded the HEFAT 2019 Outstanding Paper Award for their “Study of convective condensation in a thermosiphon loop”, in the “heat exchangers 2” session. Congratulations for this well-deserved recognition! This study was a collaboration between SuperGrid Institute, Ampère Laboratory & LaTEP.
Françoise Lamnabhi-Lagarrigue has been awarded the Irène Joliot-Curie 2019 Prize in the Female Scientist of the Year category. Congratulations to Françoise for this acclaimed recognition of her work!
SuperGrid Institute has held its first ever ‘Technical days’ event! Dedicated to our industrial shareholders, this event was organised to facilitate exchange and to allow us to better adapt our roadmap to the industry’s tangible needs. Every year the French chapter of IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES), in collaboration with SEE (Society of Electricity, Electronics and Information and Communication Technologies), recognises outstanding PhD theses and hands out the “outstanding engineer of the year” prize at an annual evening ceremony. This Wednesday the 9th of October, Ahmed Zama was honoured with the IEEE “Doctorate Award” for his thesis work on “Modeling and Control of Modular Multilevel Converters (MMCs) for HVDC applications”.

Our internship tutors will be available for a whole afternoon, seeking new talents to help us shape the power transmission system of tomorrow!
This Tuesday, the 24th of September, the Villeurbanne Inter-company Challenge took place in Parc Miribel, France. Once again, SuperGrid Institute took part in the relay race with 8 registered teams and for the first time, they claimed a place on the podium! Congratulations to Anaïs, Carole, Eleonore and Kirsty, who won first place in the women’s team category with a time of 0h46'35''.
This year, for the first time our presence at PCIM Europe 2019, was noticeable with our stand from 6th to 9th May. At the conference, and as power electronics is at the heart of our innovations, SuperGrid Institute was invited to present during the « Smart Transformers » special session.
