Important milestone
with regards to exploiting our cryostat!

SuperGrid Institute's teams reached a very important milestone with regards to exploiting our cryostat.

Our teams reached a very important milestone with regards to exploiting our cryostat. They carried out a subcooling protocol that demonstrated the cryostat’s capacity to cool liquid nitrogen from 77 K (its temperature at atmospheric pressure, ie – 196 ° C) to 66 K. This performance is essential as it doubles the current conduction capacity of the superconducting windings that play an important role in our Superconducting Current Limiter (SFCL) project.
