The Horizon Europe NEWGEN Research Project: For a New Generation of High-Voltage DC Insulation Materials, Cables, and Systems after 24 Months since the Start of the Project
Abstract
This article describes the updates on the Horizon Europe NEWGEN research project , after 24 months since its start. The NEWGEN project aims at developing and proofing a new generation of extruded HVDC cable systems, including novel insulating materials, new manufacturing, monitoring and diagnostics techniques, and dedicated models for life and reliability of the whole cable systems. Such generation of HVDC cables aims at fostering the resilience and reliability of the European transmission grid.
