General Context

The research topic here carried is dedicated to High-Voltage Substation Equipment, where “environmental-friendly” gases based on low pressure technologies for future high-voltage switchgears are of main interest.

Objectives / Missions

Within the switchgear team you will participate to the definition of technologies for next decade high-voltage Grid’s equipments.

The project is focused on high-speed high voltage switchgears, for which cold plasma are controlled through several magnetic and electric layout. More specifically, we are researching technologies that raise the current density in ionized media. The work to be performed could be split as follow with an experimental test using cylindrical plasma switch prototype and finite-element modelling to upgrade the prototype :

  • Initiation on the prototypes configurations and characterization tools.
  • Finite-element modelling (magnetostatic, electrostatic) of the experimental observations and new design
  • Technical synthesis writing, oral presentations
  • Improvement and modification proposal within the project team

Candidate Profile

Autonomous, reliable, rigorous, you are defined by your desire to learn from the experience.

Master or Engineering school student, knowledge in vacuum, plasma physics would be an advantage.
