[Press Release] The French State renews
its support for SuperGrid Institute

The French State has renewed its contract with SuperGrid Institute.

The French State has renewed its contract with SuperGrid Institute, confirming its status as an ITE and guaranteeing financial contributions for the institute for the next four years.

As part of the “Investments for the Future” programme, the French government has just reiterated its support for SuperGrid Institute by signing a new contract that confirms the institute’s status as an ITE (Institute for Energy Transition). The State has committed to investing 17€ million in capital via its affiliate the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, with a further subsidy of €6 million to be paid out over the next four years (2021-2024) by the French National Research Agency (ANR).

This latest contract formalises the French government’s ongoing support of SuperGrid Institute and demonstrates the trust it places in the institute as a driving force of innovation for France’s industry and energy transition.

With this promise of further funding, the State shows the importance it places in the ITE’s research and development work; developing the electricity grid of the future and integrating renewable energies on a massive scale. Its renewed support ensures that the institute’s critical work will endure and grow further over the coming years.
